Beshear ‘accepting blood money’ from abortion provider
Gov. Matt Bevin criticizes his Democratic opponent in the Kentucky gubernatorial race for accepting money from abortion providers.
Bevin held a press conference Thursday morning in Frankfurt to highlight his differences with Attorney General Andy Beshear over abortions.
“They are using the money from the Kentuckian murder to fund Andy Beshear,” Bevin said.
The governor highlighted a Wednesday fundraising event co-hosted by Dr Ernest Marshall and his wife. Marshall works at the EMW Women’s Surgical Center in Louisville. It is the last abortion clinic in Kentucky. Bevin’s display showed the cost to attend a $ 1,000 VIP reception. The minimum donation for fundraising was $ 500.
Bevin also called Beshear the “most liberal” person to ever run for president.
Eric Hyers, campaign manager for Beshear, responded to Bevin’s press conference:
“Yesterday we learned that the Bevin administration failed to secure a bond that would have ensured that the Blackjewel miners were paid. This morning Matt Bevin lashes out and desperately tries to distract from his own incompetence . His press stunt this morning was messy and erratic. Coupled with his comments about yesterday’s suicides, his behavior demonstrates that he is not fit to be governor of Kentucky. Reasonable and good people can be in. disagreement over choice – his extravagant language is dangerous and unacceptable. “
